If your going to be running high end programs and the latest software your going to want to go with Intel and have many reasons why. Intel has the new patent for current chips (processors) coming which compared to AMD newer chips run far better. Also if your going to be doing any multi media (creating and editing movies) your going to want to switch over to Intel. Most major company (dreamworks) use the new intel chips and for good reasons to. Also if your into pc gaming you have a wonderful Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 for only $189 retail right now. However, if your going to stick with AMD and will not make the switch to Intel I would purchase the AMD Phenom X4 9950 Quad Processor.
