Vista or XP?

I was just wondering who had what and which they think is better. Obviously, Vista SHOULD be better but I'm wondering if it really is. I haven't upgraded yet (I love my XP) and I had a horrible experience with Windows ME so I'm reluctant to give up that which I know. Any suggestions?

What are you going to use Vista for?

If it's for gaming, some of your old games may not work. As for new games, Lost planet & Halo 2 will run fine on it, since they're made for Vista.

As for other programs, Office should work fine, along with Photoshop, but beware that your old printer may not work due to the lack of appropriate Vista compat. drivers

really it depends if your Computer can handle vista without using up a lot of resources....
i would recommend atleast 1GB of Memory and a nice decent size HD..
IMO I would say stick to XP there is really no reason for change right now.

I heard Microsoft is phasing out XP though? All Dell computers are gonna phase XP out because of it.

It's tough coz I heard Vista's really slow, and OneCare Live had problems and such. That printer compatible drivers is a worry. Maybe Microsoft wants to capture the printer market as well? That would really annoy me. Those are bully tactics they are.

I'm still XP'ing it. Get it? X-Pee'ing! Ha ha... aww that gets me every time....

^Jagged, I also noticed Vista will be equiped, if not already, with software that reports back to Microsoft, periodically on its own, without your awareness, of who has the REAL Vista software on their units/PC's, and those that are faking it, YOUR VERY OWN COMPUTER WILL TELL ON YOU, and a bug or report-back software will sabatage your unit, cause it to either crash, or completely destroy your HDs, in the process. Microsoft disputes these claims, but I've heard and read that it will be, if not already implemented into the program itself.

A tattle-tale software! That blows up your computer... damn.
